31 January 2018

EEF_Profile_Portraits_055On Wednesday 31st January 2018, Pete Henderson from the Education Endowment Foundation will be speaking at our Evidence-based Maths event, being held at Plympton Academy near Plymouth. He will be taking delegates through the EEF’s recently published Maths Guidance ‘Improving Mathematics in Key Stage 2 and 3’.

This guidance report offers eight practical, evidence-based recommendations—that are relevant to all pupils— but particularly to those struggling with their mathematics. To develop the recommendations, the best available international research was reviewed and consulted experts, teachers, and academics to arrive at key principles for effective teaching.

Joining Peter will be Clare Christie, Maths lead and SLE at Ashley Down Schools Federation. Claire will bring the guidance to life with real-world examples of evidence-based approaches in the classroom.

The half-day event (including light lunch) will take place on 31 January 2018 from 12:30 to 15:30.
